چکیده
Background: In situations of a morbidly adherent placenta, studies have shown that maternal serum alfa feto protein (AFP) is clinically high. Objective: To examine the association placenta (MAP) in pregnant women with previa (PP) and their AFP biomarker. Methods: A prospective observational study was conducted Department Obstetrics Gynecology at Azadi Teaching Hospital, Kirkuk, Iraq during period from Feb. till Nov. 2019. It included 82 those between 14-20 weeks gestation singleton pregnancy, viable fetus, diagnosed low lying without vaginal bleeding. blood sample all taken to investigate for level after confirming diagnosis low-lying by early abdominal ultrasound (U/S) scan. All enrolled were followed Doppler U/S gestational age 28-32 weeks, underwent targeted screening MAP divided into two groups according status placenta: group 11 PP alone 71 women. Results: this study, 13.4% cases. Mean biomarker significantly higher than PP. Serum pregnancy >200 ng/ml predictive late pregnancy. Conclusion: Maternal may play an important role prediction placental adherence cases placenta. Keywords: Morbidly alpha protein, previa, Citation: Hassan SS, Ghalib AK. predict previa. Objective. To determine maternal morbidity in women with placenta previa managed with prediction of morbidly adherent placenta (MAP) by ultrasonography. Methods. A retrospective cohort study was undertaken comprising forty-one women who had placenta previa with or without risk factors for MAP. Women who had all three findings (bladder line interruption, placental lacunae, and absence of the ret...

BACKGROUND Morbidly adherent placenta (MAP) with its variants is one of the most feared complications causing high morbidity and mortality in obstetrics. The objective of this study was to analyse different management options and maternal outcome in diagnosed cases of morbidly adherent placenta. METHODS Descriptive case series was carried out in Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department, Combined...
متن کاملManagement of morbidly adherent placenta
Morbidly adherent placenta is a rare complication of human placentation that may threaten maternal life due to massive haemorrhage. Its incidence is increasing due to the rising caesarean section rates worldwide. A high degree of clinical suspicion coupled with ultrasonography, magnetic resonance imaging, and cystoscopy helps in antenatal diagnosis. Elective caesarean hysterectomy with a multid...
متن کاملFolding Sutures Following Tourniquet Binding as a Conservative Surgical Approach for Placenta Previa Combined with Morbidly Adherent Placenta
IntRoductIon The incidence of the morbidly adherent placenta has been increasing due to the increased rate of cesarean section. Life‐threatening hemorrhage is the major concern for the morbidly adherent placenta, and efficient bleeding control of lower uterine segment is critical to improve outcomes. When traditional conservative methods do not work, further surgical procedures should be attemp...
